This morning, Wednesday, 5/1/2022, a master thesis was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language/ Branch of Literature, for the student (Doaa Musa Kadhim), and the title of the thesis was (Representations of Identity in the Poetry of Adnan Al-Sayegh). The discussion committee consisted of the gentlemen listed below:

2- Prof. Dr. Muslim Malik Ba’ir / University of Karbala – College of Islamic Sciences / member
3- Prof. Dr. Hamza Abdel Hamza Aliwi / University of Karbala – College of Education for Human Sciences / member
4- Prof. Dr. Rafal Hassan Taha / University of Karbala – College of Education for Human Sciences / member and supervisor
The study consisted of three chapters, as the first chapter was entitled (National Identity and Representations of Belonging) and it consisted of three sections: Identity between belonging and alienation, identity between reality and dream, national identity and the interactions of religion. As for the second chapter, it was entitled (Cultural Identity and Representations of Contrasting), and it consisted of three sections: language, history, and heritage. And the third chapter came under the title (The Identity and the Other) and was divided into four sections: “The Other / Woman, The Other / The Friend, The Other / The Domineering, The Other / The Afraid.” .
The study revealed several results, including: “Identity represents an area of recurrent cognitive concepts in several fields, philosophical, psychological, social, and cultural, especially the field of its work in the literary field in general and in the poetic field in particular.
