The College of Education for the Humanities/ University of Kerbala and Al-Hilla University College held their third scientific conference.
Under the slogan “Humanities and the Requirements of the Age,” the College of Education at the University of Kerbala this morning, Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Al-Sanhouri Hall, established its third international scientific conference in collaboration with Al-Hilla University College. The conference was founded under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, under the supervision of the Honorable President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Bassim Khalil Nayel Al-Saadi, and headed by the Honorable Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali.
The ceremony started with a welcome from the master of ceremonies, Mr. Murtada Al-Hilli, to the attendees. Next, there were recitations of verses from the Holy Quran, reading Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, a performance of the national anthem, and a speech by the college’s dean, professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali. He began by thanking everyone for coming and expressing how happy he and the other members of the college were to meet the guests at the University of Kerbala. He emphasized that there is a strong desire to continue and improve the activities of our annual conference, which is in its third year as an international humanities-focused event that has welcomed close to 100 students. He likewise announced that 75 research projects were given the go-ahead to be presented and debated during the conference.
Dr. Sabah Wajid expressed gratitude for the exceptional scientific and humanitarian efforts at the third edition of the international scientific conference at the College of Education for Humanities. He wished them good times filled with knowledge and giving. Dr. Wajid also expressed appreciation to the university’s president, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel Al-Saadi, his scientific and administrative assistants, Professor Dr. Aqeel Majeed Al-Saadi, President of Al-Hilla University College, and Prof. Dr. Hussein Al-Sharoufi from the Gulf University of Science and Technology in Kuwait, who traveled to participate in the conference. Thanks also go to the staff of Masoumeh University in the Islamic Republic of Iran for their cooperation in the scientific committee of the conference.
The university president, Professor Dr. Basem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, welcomed attendees and wished the conference success. Hilla University College President, Professor Dr. Aqeel Majeed Al-Saadi, also spoke. The conference aimed to address humanitarian and scientific issues, confront contemporary challenges, and develop in-depth research studies and cognitive discourses. The conference featured discussions on human personality, identity, and research competence. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Karbala Provincial Council, Dr. Qasim Al-Yasari, the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kinani, and the Director General of Karbala Education.
