University Debating Championship Held at the College of Education for Humanities
In line with the scientific approach based on international interaction that the College of Education for Humanities follows, the Training, Employment and Follow-up Unit (University Debating Championship) organized a debating competition between four teams of debating students from the College of Education this morning, Sunday, April 21, 2024, in the Knowledge Hall in the college.
The debating committee consisted of:
* Debating Supervisor: M.M. Mohammed Ajil Attiya
* First Judge: M.D. Muslim Khalif Al-Ghanemi
* Second Judge: M.M. Abbas Abdul Amir Taha
* Third Judge: M.M. Mona Abdul Razzaq
The members of the jury indicated that the University Debating Championship is a cultural competition between students of the Iraqi government and private universities to form a scientific team to refine dialogue skills, elevate the youth class, enhance presentation and persuasion skills, achieve awareness, and raise the cultural level of Iraqi university students. The winning team in the debates will participate in the international competition scheduled to be held in the State of Qatar next May.
Accordingly, the Championship aims to develop students’ skills in dialogue methods and presenting appropriate arguments and evidence on various topics. Four teams were nominated, with three debaters per team, to compete for first place. Six debaters were nominated to represent the College of Education for Humanities according to the decisions of the jury to participate in the University Championship.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali, and his Vice for scientific and administrative affairs, Prof. Mu’ayyad Imran Chiyad yad and Dr. Salah Majid Al-Saedi, attended part of the debating session.
