The Continuing Education Section at the College of Education for Human Sciences at Karbala University organized a training course on (mastering the academic publishing process by selecting appropriate academic journals and understanding how to count the H-index on Google Scholar and Scopus, as well as managing references in Arabic). The course was presented by Dr.Muhie Murtadha Muhie, Mr. Kazim Ali Ahmed, and Mr.Saif Ali Hussein.
The course includes the following topics: academic journals and their types, distinguishing between commercial, fake, and accredited journals, the H-index (h-index), and how to benefit from citations.
The aim of the course is to educate and train faculty members and graduate students on selecting good academic journals, in accordance with the regulations and decisions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to avoid commercial and fake journals. Additionally, it aims to identify the H-index on Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, as well as how to write and categorize references accurately.
