The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, organized a training workshop titled “Visual Rhetoric: Terminology, Concept, and Components.”The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Karima Nomas Al-Madani. Several esteemed staff members have attended the workshop in addition to the postgraduate students as the audience.
The workshop aimed to define the concept of rhetorical discourse as it plays a vital role in achieving communication with audiences to fulfil specific objectives set by the discourse producer. Rhetoric is a cultural and informative system designed to achieve various goals depending on the context, but the humanities continue to evolve in order to meet these objectives. In light of the technological and intellectual advancements that have shaped modern discourse and the increasing demands of academic life, rhetoric has developed into a new cognitive framework to better accommodate evolving intellectual needs.
The workshop covered several key topics, including the concept of visual rhetoric, and its practical applications, as well as the analysis of imagery, body movements, and book covers.
