The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, organised a training workshop titled “Feminist Narratives and Related Topics: A Case Study of the Stories of Maysaloon Hadi”. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Hamza Abdul Hamza Aliwi. Professors and students from the Department of Arabic Language attended the workshop.
Moreover, it aimed at exploring the issues surrounding women’s stories as presented in the first three short story collections by the Iraqi author Maysaloon Hadi, adopting feminist approaches to examine how Iraqi women and their diverse experiences are portrayed in literature.
Key Topics Covered in the Workshop:
- First Topic: An introduction to feminism and its trends in modern criticism focusing on the Arab world.
- Second Topic: Highlighting the challenges in Maysaloon Hadi’s early short stories, concentrating on her first three collections.
- Third Topic: A narrative analysis of what was termed as “women’s stories” as presented in Hadi’s selected works.
