The College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala held a scientific seminar under the title “Geography: Between Generalization and Specialization.” The seminar featured presentations by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Ajil Atiyah, Assistant Lecturer Zaid Kamil Jawad, and Assistant Lecturer Abbas Abdulameer Taha. Moreover, the seminar was attended by staff members and students from the Department of Applied Geography.
The seminar aimed to explore the relationship between the broad, general concepts of geography and its specialized, in-depth aspects. It highlighted the importance of integrating general geographical principles with focused studies that address specific issues. The event also discussed the challenges geographers face in handling specialized fields such as environmental geography, economic geography, and social geography, while encouraging researchers to conduct studies that bridge general geographical knowledge and its specialized applications.
