As part of the activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week, the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala, in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, organized an awareness seminar titled “Domestic Violence: A Pandemic that Destroys Families and Undermines Social Structures.” The seminar featured lectures by Captain Ali Mohsen Jassim, Lieutenant Colonel Noor Toufiq Hadi, and Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Maki Al-Fatlawi, with the attendance of faculty members and students from the college.
The aim of the seminar was to raise societal awareness on domestic violence, protect university students from its harmful effects, and promote the preservation of individuals, families, and society to foster community peace.
The seminar covered the following topics: defining the types of domestic violence and combating its crimes, identifying its causes and impacts on society, exploring the key social theories that explain domestic violence, as well as promoting the optimal spread of community awareness and strategies to protect Iraqi families from the dangers of this crime.
