As part of the activities and events of the World Leadership Week, the Department of Applied Geography at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Kerbala organized a scientific symposium on ((Awareness of the dangers of the spread of the phenomenon of drugs and electronic blackmail and their social effects)), in which (Dr. Furqan Muhammad Abdul Majeed Al-Nasrawi, and Dr. Osama Ahmed Abdul Sahib Al-Masoudi) lectured, and in the presence of a number of professors and students of the college.
The symposium aims to educate students about the dangers of drugs and electronic blackmail, and to identify their negatives and ways to confront and reduce them.
The symposium included several axes represented by the following: defining the concepts related to the phenomenon of drugs and electronic blackmail, the qualitative classification of these phenomena, the main reasons for their spread in society, as well as the negative effects resulting from them, and discussing the laws and legislations approved by the Iraqi legislator to eliminate and reduce these phenomena.
At the end of the symposium, the lecturers called for adherence to religious restraint, and warned against negligence and underestimation of sins by students, considering it the best way to protect our students and immunize them against these phenomena that are foreign to Iraqi society. They urged parents to monitor their children and care for their family members because the family is the first building block in the constructionof a society, and the well-being of the family is part of the well-being of community.
