The College of Education for Humanities Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Role of Educational Institutions in Promoting Leadership

As part of the activities and events of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities/ University of Karbalahave organized a scientific symposium on ((The Role of Educational Institutions in Promoting Entrepreneurship/University of Baghdad as a model)), in which Prof. KazemHassan Jassim and Dr. Falah Hassan Kazar have lectured, inthe presence of professors and students of the department.

The symposium aims at introducing students, and the honorable audience to the first beginnings of the establishment of higher education in Iraq, and the reasons for that, especially the establishment of the University of Baghdad in 1956.

The symposium includes discussing the first beginnings of the development of primary and higher education in Iraq. Besides, the first steps of establishing universities during the royal era in Iraq, especially after the availability of the main factors for its advancement. For example, the availability of specialized staff, the necessary human resources (HR) and infrastructure, which resulted in the approval of the law of establishing the University of Baghdad in 1956. Then a royal administration was issued in August 1957, appointing MattiAkrawi as its first president.
