The College of Education for Humanities Holds a Scientific Seminar on Translation, Linguistic Interaction and Their Impact on Tolerance,Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue

The College of Education for Humanities at University of Karbala, in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair at KufaUniversity, held a scientific seminar entitled: ‘Translation and Linguistic Interaction: their Impact on Tolerance,Dialogue of Religions and Cultures, Dr. Jadallah Qur’ani as a Model’. The lecturers are: Prof. Dr. Uday Mohsen Ghafel, who teaches at the Faculty of Education at the University of KerbalaAsst. Prof. Alaa Shatanan, Director of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Kufa, and Asst. Prof.Yassin Taha Yassin from the Translation Institute at the University of Algiers. The seminar targeted undergraduate and postgraduate students and university professors, especially professors of the College of Education for Humanities.

The seminar sheds light on tolerance and its importance in bringing religions and sects closer together, as well as the role of translation in communicating between cultures and the importance of linguistic interaction in confirming that role. Dr Jadallah was chosen as an example of tolerance and love, as well as his role in translation, authorship and its reflection on his campaign to communicate Islam in many countries of the world.

The symposium included several themes, most notably: In addition to highlighting the role of translation in the dialogue of religions and cultures, the seminar shed light on the personality of Dr. Jadallah through how he entered Islam, then studied the science of the Quran and believed in it sincerely. He worked to spread Islam and its culture in many countries of the world, especially African countries.His works, the importance of his intellectual output and the impact of this on his missionary work is well- described. The impact of translation and linguistic interaction in communication between peoples and bringing points of view closer are portrayed deeply.

It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Education for Humanities at Karbala University has always sought to enhance scientific and research cooperation with reputable local, Arab and international institutions to achieve its strategic vision in developing its students and staff to serve our dear country.
