Baghdad Governor Mr Abdul-Muttalib Al-Alawi honours one of the staff members in the College of Education for Humanities / Department of History.

On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the Baghdad Province, the first conference on the Baghdad Province was held today in the Sami Abdul Hamid Hall at the Baghdad Cultural Center on Al-Mutanabbi Street. The conference reviewed key events that occurred in the province during the royal and republican eras. At the end of the ceremony, Governor Abdul-Muttalib Al-Alawi honoured a group of researchers who wrote about the history of the province, including Assistant Professor Riyad Rayhan Manshudh from the History Department, who presented a research paper on the governors who held the position during the republican era. For your information, the title of the researcher’s master’s thesis was “Baghdad Province: A Historical Study (1958-1968).”
