The Women’s Affairs Section at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala organized a media campaign in observance of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” under the supervision of the Section head, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sundus Mohammed Alwan, and in collaboration with the faculty members of the scientific departments.
The campaign aims to raise awareness among female students about the various causes of violence against women, including social, economic, and cultural factors. It also seeks to explore potential solutions to these issues, while emphasizing the woman’s status in Islamic law and society. The campaign highlights the significant role and respect women deserve, affirming their rights as human beings, as well as their roles as mothers and wives.
Additionally, the campaign advocates for equality in religious duties and rights, stressing the importance of not distorting or misinterpreting women’s rights, and calling for stopping the practice of violence against them.
