A new book titled “New Readings in Islamic History: Research on Political, Social, and Economic Thought” has been published by Professor Dr. Abeer Abdul-Rasoul Al-Tamimi, a faculty member in the Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences.
Islamic history and its philosophy hold great significance and profound influence. It is not merely about documenting historical events but also involves understanding the laws and underlying truths of these events, which lie in the true comprehension of human ideas. It explores the theoretical foundations of practices, applications, and social changes that have occurred throughout Islamic history. Additionally, it investigates the general, comprehensive, causal, and teleological laws and historical readings of events, the rise and fall of states and governments. This approach aims to provide a critical perspective grounded in the wisdom of the past, with applications for the present and the future.
The book consists of three chapters: The first chapter presents research on the political thought of the Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them). The second chapter addresses research on political, social, and cultural thought. The third chapter delves into research on Islamic economic thought.
