As part of efforts to enhance professional competencies and build individual capacities in the field of counseling, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Applied Counseling: Strategies for Achieving Positive Change”. The course was delivered by Assist. Lect. Haneen Kazem Hindi and Assist. Lect. Zahra’ Seham, with participation from students of the department.
The aim of the course is to develop the participants’ skills in counseling, enhance their ability to offer practical and effective solutions to problems, and introduce them to the latest techniques and tools in the field of counseling, enabling them to provide effective support to individuals and communities.
The course covered various topics, including an introduction to counseling principles, the role of the counselor in different fields (educational, social, psychological), and modern counseling techniques such as electronic counseling methods.
The course concluded with several recommendations, most notably the need for ongoing education in the field of applied counseling and the importance of organizing future workshops to deepen knowledge and expand practical experience.
At the conclusion of the course, participants praised the quality of the training content and the relevance of the topics discussed. The course has been seen as an important step toward improving professional performance and strengthening the role of counseling in serving individuals and communities.
