As part of the activities for the World Week for People with Special Needs, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for the Humanities at University of Kerbala, has organized a scientific seminar titled “The Art of Dealing with People with Special Needs” The seminar was presented by Dr.Alaa Mohammed Abdul Razi and Assist. Lect. Hind Muftan Rahim, with the attendance of several professors and students.
The seminar has aimed to highlight the importance of proper interaction with people with special needs and to offer some techniques and guidelines for engaging with them.
The seminar has emphasized that the art of dealing with people with special needs is a critical humanitarian topic that requires deep understanding and full respect for the rights of this group.
The seminar has included three main topics: defining the concept of people with special needs and classifying their categories, explaining the fundamental principles underlying methods of dealing with them, and presenting effective techniques for engaging with each category.
The seminar concluded with several recommendations, the most prominent of which were: providing specialized educational programs for people with special needs, training staff on optimal methods for dealing with them, ensuring appropriate infrastructure, encouraging community awareness, and supporting scientific research in the field of special needs.
