The Department of English at the College of Education for Humanities at Kerbala University organized an electronic scientific seminar on “Raising Awareness of the Risks of Electronic Smoking: An Air Purification Initiative,” presented by a group of talented students from Klein High School, a public school in Spring, Texas, USA. The seminar was supervised by the esteemed Head of the Department, Assistant Professor DheyaaKhaleel Nayel, and managed by Assist.Lect. Hajer Mahmoud Ibrahim welcomed the participants and contributed to the seminar’s fruitful scientific management.The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the health risks associated with electronic smoking, as well as to introduce how to use English in a real-life context. It highlights the risks of electronic smoking and its effects on physical and mental health, as well as the importance of taking preventive measures.It is worth mentioning that the seminar was rich in information and effective in drawing attention to the necessity of teamwork to promote healthy lifestyles. Additionally, our dear students interacted positively and demonstrated a high ability to use English in a real context. This initiative comes as one of the initiatives that the department is keen to provide from time to time.At the end of the seminar, the head of the department expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the students from Klein High School in Texas, stating the department’s desire to expand cooperation with American colleges and universities shortly.
