The Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities Honors the Historian Mr. Salman Hadi Al-Tuma and a Delegation from Kerbala Centre for Studies and Research

On the side-lines of the scientific symposium titled “Libraries in Kerbala as a Source of Knowledge,” which was organized by the College of Education for the Humanities in cooperation with the Kerbala Centre for Studies and Research of the Al-Abbassiya Holy Shrine, the respected Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Saeedi, honoured the Iraqi poet and historian Mr. Salman Hadi Al-Tuma and the distinguished delegation from the Kerbala Centre. This recognition was given in appreciation of their valuable efforts in organizing the scientific symposium, wishing them continued success and guidance from Almighty God.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Salman Hadi Al-Tuma(born February 16, 1935) is an Iraqi poet and historian. He was born in Kerbala into a Shia Misawi family and grew up there with his father. He obtained his primary diploma of teachers in 1959, then a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education at the University of Baghdad in 1971, followed by a master’s degree from the Islamic University in Lebanon. He has authored numerous poetry collections beside historical and literary works. He is particularly known for his contributions to the local history of his birthplace, Kerbala, his works include Heritage of Kerbala, Kerbala in Memory, Poets of Kerbala, Tribes and Families of Kerbala, and many others.
