The College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Advisory Office at the American University of Baghdad, organized a scientific symposium entitled “Enhancing the Innovation Environment in Universities.” The symposium was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Amjad Talal Saeed, a consultant at the Institute of Continuing Education at the American University, with the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University, along with Vice Presidents for Academic and Administrative Affairs, as well as Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Sa’eedi, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Assistant Deans for Academic and Administrative Affairs, several faculty deans, professors, and students.
The symposium aimed to support students’ innovative and practically applicable projects, utilizing the expertise of faculty members and students with creative skills in specific fields. The objective was to have them work as trainers within specialized groups, producing tangible outputs that benefit both academic institutions and society.
The discussion also covered business incubators and innovation centers as mechanisms to encourage and support university students’ creative initiatives, which often lack financial resources and advanced expertise for implementation. These incubators serve as vital platforms for harnessing potential and fostering the development of small start-up projects, which may, over time, become pillars of economic growth and progress.
It is worth noting that university incubators are among the most significant contributions that universities can offer to society. They play a crucial role in knowledge dissemination, promoting excellence, and inspiring future generations to believe in their ability to drive change.
