In response to the instructions of the Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Sa’eedi, and under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Arabic, Prof. Dr. Jinan Al-Jubouri, the Department of Arabic organized a field trip for seniors to the Central Public Library in the Holy City of Karbala, supervised by Dr. Abbas Ubaid Al-Ameri.
The Director of the Central Public Library, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas Al-Anbari warmly received the delegation and provided them with an introduction to the library and its services for researchers and visitors. He also gave an extensive presentation on the library’s history, founded in 1945, its cataloguing system, and the nature of its resources and services.
Moreover, the students made a tour of the library’s different sectors including the Hall of Unique Books, the periodicals Section, the Dissertations and Theses Archive, and the Children’s Hall
Most notably, the visit aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the pivotal role of libraries in shaping intellectual culture, supporting academic research, and fostering diverse reading habits. Additionally, it introduced students to a significant intellectual and cultural landmark that remains an essential part of Karbala’s historical and academic heritage.
