The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala organized a training workshop entitled “Quranism in Critical Procedure: Mahwa Al-Tuffah by Professor Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dada, by Choice”, lectured by Prof. Dr. Ali Kazim Muhammad Ali Al-Maslawi, and moderated by Prof. Dr. Karima Noumas Al-Madani, with the attendance of professors and students of the college.
The workshop aimed to define the concept of Quranism and the mechanisms of its employment in literary criticism, analyze the impact of Quranism in shaping the critical style of Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dada, as well as exploring the extent of Quranism’s compatibility with the modern critical methodology despite its abstract and terminological nature, and highlight the critical techniques adopted by the critic in employing Quranism, in addition to evaluating the critical goals achieved by these mechanisms in critical discourse.
The workshop included the following topics: a theoretical introduction to the Quranism, the Qur’anic in the discourse of the critic Abbas Rashid Al-Dadah, the critical techniques derived from the Qur’anic in the book Mahwa Al-Tuffah, and the influence of Quranism on the structure of critical discourse, in addition to the goals and results resulting from this employment.
