Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Sa’eedi, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jinan Al-Jubouri, Head of the Department of Arabic Language, the department organised a training course titled “Manuscript Indexing and Its Role in Reviving Heritage”. The course was in collaboration with the Manuscript Library at Al-Abbas Holy Shrine and the Centre for Indexed Manuscript Imaging. The lectures of the course were delivered by Lect. Karrar Jawad Al-Mufarji (PhD) and Assist. Lect. Mohammed Jasim Al-Mousawi, with the attendance of the staff members and postgraduate students from the department.
Moreover, the course aimed to introduce the methods and mechanisms of manuscript indexing, preservation, maintenance, and restoration of historical documents and manuscripts. These efforts contribute to advancing scientific research and supporting academic scholars in the field.
Near the end, it is worth noting that the course is part of the ongoing academic and practical collaboration between the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala and the Manuscript Library at Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. This partnership extends across various domains, including the preservation and restoration of manuscript heritage and historical documents.
