The Section of Student Dormitories Affairs at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Karbala, in collaboration with the Narcotics and Mental Influences Directorate in Kerbala, organized a training course titled “The Phenomenon of Drugs and Its Societal Impacts” The course presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Muslim Hassan Khalif, Director of the Section of Student Dormitories Affairs, Assist. Lect. Ali Faleh Ali, a faculty member in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, and Colonel Ayman Mohammed from the Narcotics Control Directorate. The course was attended by faculty supervisors from the department.
The aim of the course was to raise awareness among dormitory supervisors about the dangers of drugs, how to identify drug users from the early stages, and how to mitigate this dangerous phenomenon, which is alien to our societal reality.
The course covered the following topics: an introduction to types of drugs (natural and synthetic), the legal and religious stance on this organized crime, as well as methods for early identification of drug users and ways of prevention and treatment.
The course showed strong participation and positive interaction from attendees, who praised the importance of the topic and the depth of the discussion. This activity is part of a series of purposeful events organized by the college to enhance cultural and social awareness among staff and students.
