A master’s thesis entitled “Al-Imam Al- Hassan ‘Peace Be Upon Him’ In The Poetry Of The Maraqi Al-Mujtaba Competition: A Stylistic Study” was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for the Humanities/ University of Kerbala, by the researcher Salwa Ali Amer, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karima Noumas Muhammad al-Madani.
The importance of the thesis lies in shedding light on an important historical and human figure before being a great religious, political and intellectual one, namely the grandson of the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon them), al-Imam al-Hassan in the poetry of the Maraqi al-Mujtaba competition, and defining the stylistic approach that imitates the qualities and virtues of al-Imam al-Hassan (PBUH) with modern methods and the structure of different poems.
The thesis included four chapters: the first chapter explained the rhythmic level, the second chapter discussed the syntactic level, the third chapter explained the pictorial level, and the fourth chapter discussed other stylistic techniques.
The researcher reached a number of results, including: The poems of the poets of Maraqi Al-Mujtaba were characterized by stylistic, vocal and rhythmic features with a distinct and influential effectiveness, in addition to the poems revealing the most important images that the poets wanted to convey to the recipient from simile, metaphor, and metonymy, clarifying the poetic purposes and enhancing the effectiveness of the image.
