THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCES ORGANIZES A SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM ON DEPRESSION

The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala organized a scientific symposium entitled “Depression is a Hidden Enemy: Causes and Treatments”, lectured by Dr. Hanin Kazim Hindi, and attended by students of the department.

The symposium aimed to educate students about the concept of depression as a hidden psychological disorder, with an analysis of its psychological, social and biological causes, and a review of effective strategies for early detection, treatment methods and psychological support, in addition to enhancing the students’ skills through interactive discussions and applied exercises that help them identify indicators of depression, and understand how to provide appropriate support for themselves and others.

The symposium included the following topics: defining the concept of depression, its causes, and its psychological, physical and societal symptoms, as well as the ways of treating the patients.
