The Department of English at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific debate between second-year students from both morning and evening study programs in the subject of English Theatre. This initiative was designed to encourage academic and scholarly competition, fostering students’ research and intellectual abilities under the direct supervision of the esteemed Head of the Department, Asst. Prof. Dheyaa Khaleel Nayel.
In this context, Asst. Lect. Ahmed Hameed Al-Aabidy, a professor of English Theatre, affirmed that these debates align with the university’s directives to promote scientific and competitive academic activities, reinforcing teamwork and shared responsibility for accurate responses.
At the conclusion of the debate, the supervising committee announced that both teams had achieved the same score, resulting in a tie.
It is noteworthy that the debate was attended by a number of specialized professors in literature and English language, along with the participation of students from various academic levels.
