The Continuing Education Division at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Statistical Methods in Climatic and Agricultural Studies” for postgraduate students in the Department of Applied Geography. The course was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sundus Mohammed Alwan Al-Zubaidi.
The course aimed to discuss various statistical methods relevant to climatic and agricultural topics, addressing environmental challenges and extracting essential values and data related to issues such as water resource shortages, climate change, global warming, drought, pollution, and more.
The course covered the following key topics:
• The significance of climatic and agricultural studies in society.
• An introduction to statistical methods and mathematical techniques using Microsoft Excel.
• Practical application of selected mathematical techniques in climatic and agricultural research.
The course concluded with several recommendations, the most notable of which was the emphasis on obtaining precise results through digital transformation. This approach has become an essential requirement for postgraduate students (MA and Ph.D.) specializing in natural and human applied geography studies.
