As part of enhancing scientific skills and reinforcing theoretical knowledge, second-year students/ evening classfrom the Department of Applied Geography at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, conducted a field tour within the college and university so as to study some characteristics of the river, including its length, width, depth, and flow speed, as part of the Applied Geomorphology course under the supervision of Dr. Hani Jabir Al-Masoudi.
Additionally, students examined soil properties in the field, such as soil colour, and texture, using direct field methods and simple tools.
This study aims to reinforce theoretical knowledge, move beyond the traditional lecture format, and provide students with an opportunity to independently explore river and soil characteristics.
