A Delegation from the Geological Survey Authority Visits the College of Education for the Humanitiesto Strengthen Research Cooperation

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala, and the Geological Survey Authority at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, a delegation led by Dr. Safaa Abdul Hadi, Head of the Geological Survey Division at the Ministry, visited the Department of Applied Geography’s laboratories to examine the available materials and rock samples for scientific studies.

The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala and to explore the Department of Geology and Geomorphology laboratories to classify and identify rocks and their origins.

The delegation noted that most of the examined rocks are sedimentary, some belonging to the Dammam, Dibdiba, and Euphrates formations, while others remained unidentified.

The visiting delegation recommended conducting further laboratory analyses using specialized materials to facilitate rock identification.

The visit concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued collaboration between the college and the authority to advance research on natural resources.
