The College of Education for the Humanities holds a Seminar on Publishing Basics in Scopus and Clarivate Indexes and the Role of AI

The College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala held a seminar titled “Publishing Basics in Scopus and Clarivate Indexes and the Role of AI”. Asst. Professor Ameen Awad Kazem (PhD)lectured at the seminar with the attendance of staffmembers and postgraduate students from the college.

The seminar aimed to introduce attendees to the publishing mechanisms, develop research writing skills, and enhance opportunities for publishing in journals indexed in Scopus Clarivate, and Web of Science. It also focused on avoiding predatory journals and adhering to publication standards.

The seminar covered the basics of publishing in Scopus and Clarivate, starting with creating profiles in these databases, followed by creating a profile in the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID), and concluding with writing and publishing research in journals indexed in Scopus and Clarivate.

The seminar concluded with several recommendations, including the importance of having a profile for each researcher in Scopus and Clarivate, as well as in ORCID. It emphasized the need to select relevant AI tools for scientific publishing and assist researchers in developing their research skills, while noting that AI assistance in writing is unacceptable in all scientific journals.

The seminar ended with a review of key AI tools and their importance for researchers, as well as how to use them effectively.
