THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION FOR THE HUMANITIES ORGANIZES A DEVELOPING WORKSHOP ON ACHIEVEMENT TESTS: FOUNDATIONS AND CRITERIA FOR QUESTION FORMULATION

The Continuing Education Division, in cooperation with the Departments of Educational and Psychological Sciences and Arabic Language at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala, organized a developmentalworkshop entitled “Achievement Tests: Foundations and Criteria for Question Formulation.” The workshop was lectured by: Prof. Sadiq Abis Mankour Al-Shafi’i and Prof. Adi Obaidan Salman Al-Jarrah. The workshop was moderated on the first day by Prof. Karima Noumas Al-Madani, and on the second day by Prof. Ali Turki Shaker Al-Fatlawi. The workshop targeted faculty members and graduate students.

The workshop included several topics, most notably: defining the concept of tests in language and terminology, their objectives, characteristics, and types. The workshop aimed to measure students’ academic and achievement levels, identify their strengths and weaknesses, making groups of students and measure their progress in the subject. It also aimed to identify individual differences among students, both high achievers and slow learners.
