1- Study the reality of geography departments in Iraqi universities and in all colleges {faculties of education, Colleges of Arts and Colleges of Basic Education.
2- Unifying the vocabulary of geography curricula and bringing together the geography subjects taught in different colleges.
3- Defining the vision, mission, and goals of geography in the various colleges by unifying the goals of what was taught to graduates, their specializations, and the need of society, and linking all of that to the global scientific development in this specialty.
4- Building curricula according to the state’s philosophy and the needs of society, with a focus on the creative, scientific, applied field, and global cognitive aspects through an Iraqi perspective.
5- The curricula include study materials that keep pace with global development to study natural and human problems, such as climate change, El Nino, and political problems that occur in the current world, and link that to the Iraqi reality.
6- Developing the mechanisms and tools used in teaching geography by providing equipment and laboratories that are among the important needs in teaching geography and benefiting from the mechanisms used in developed countries and reputable foreign universities.
7- Determine the types of laboratories that must be provided in geography departments, in a manner consistent with the existing cadres, student preparation, and a ten-year plan that can be developed as needed.
8- Increasing the financial resources allocated for writing, translation, equipment, laboratories, and libraries.
9- Modifying existing and newly developed academic subjects according to what is available in reputable foreign universities
