Constructing Verbs and Derivatives in Collection of Seyd Al A’raji : A Morphological Semantic Study

Abstract:
Searching in reference to constructions is not considered in its beginning, rather, it reached according to the researcher’s knowledge to adulthood. Therefore, many previous researchers’ attempts preceded mine in indulging in the depths of constructions searching for the hidden semantic gems for these constructions and they had accepted results. Seyd Mehdi Al A’raji was a Husseini poet and orator; he was very wit for he apprehended poetry and mastered its delivering. He studied under his uncle who adopted him and taught him oration art; so, he became a hero of rhymes and a cute orator, till he died drowning in Al Hilla river, thus, he joined Allah Al Mighty.
concerning Seyd Mehdi Al A’raji collection, it has not been tackled before accepting by modest hand. I tried hard to state what references these constructions carry looking at their context. This was not away from the oral context that accompany these constructions. Thus, it has two judgments in limiting reference of that used construction.
However, the stud can be divided into the following. It has two parts preceded by introduction and a preface, followed by conclusion containing the most important results.
The first part tackled verbs construction ( pure and increased), and it has two sections. The first chapter studied pure verbs construction ( triple and quadruple). The second chapter was about increased verbs construction ( with one, two, or three letters).
The second part treated references to derivatives and it has two chapters. The first chapter discussed constructions of the present participle, exaggeration form, and past participle. The second chapter was devoted to the past participle, superlative nouns, time and place nouns, and device names.
The most important results were as the following:
1.The morphological construction may acquire particular reference through the oral contexts that are mentioned in their context such as the verb ( stayed) which granted the present participle reference for continuity due to what it carries a reference of continuity.

  1. It had certain morphological uses which were not preceded by anyone before such as the item ‘ semeam’ on the conjugation ‘ fe’eal’ which means poisoned on the conjugation form ‘ mef’oul’.
  2. The poet used the construction ‘ if’al’ that grammarians proved that no similar meaning to mentioned before, rather, he wanted a new reference which we called ‘ al ja’al’ or ‘ alwadha’, where we wanted the reverse reference as ‘ al selb and izalah’ .
