Ashoor Rituals in Kerbala from the Seventh Hijri century to the Thirteenth

Abstract:
The current study which is entitled ” Ashoor Rituals in Kerbala from the Seventh Hijri century to the Thirteenth Hijri Century: A Historical Study” studied the old and updated rituals in the mentioned period. The study started the linguistic and terminological meaning of the ritual with the verification of the similarities among the ritual, faith, and rite (filament). Then, the roots of these rituals were investigated, followed by the way in which they were mentioned.
Later, the study moved to tackle the aim of every ritual that participants performed in Al-Husseini consolation. The most important rituals were treated in separate sections such wailing, funerals, condolence at homes, streets, and Husseiniyas.
The study also mentioned instruments and tools of condolence, black color, fire, and chains. There was a special function for visitors’ nourishment; beside a tentation for slashing condolence, and the city suburbs condolence where there was devoted for each performance.
