Prof. Otosomu Okada from Osaka University, Japan, visited the Department of English at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala. He was received by Asst. Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Muayyad Omran Chiad, Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dheyaa Khaleel Nayel, and Prof. Haidar Al-Kerbala’i from the Department of History.
The visit included a discussion of Prof. Okada’s extensive experience and long-standing engagement with Iraqi culture and affairs. He emphasized that his connection with the Iraqi people, particularly with the holy cities of Kerbala and Najaf, dates back to the 1980s. His works include translations related to Al-Hussain Revolution and Iraqi popular proverbs.
In return, the Head of Department expressed deep gratitude and high appreciation for the visit, noting that such visits serve as bridges for communication between nations and cultures. He also revealed the department’s interest in fostering academic collaboration with English departments at Japanese universities.
