In a notable academic and literary achievement and as part of the faculty’s activities to disseminate literature and knowledge, Dar Malameh Publishing in the United Arab Emirates announced the release of the poetry collection Diwan of Abu Al-Raqa’maq Al-Antaki, edited and studied by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Mahdawi from the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala.
Abu Al-Raqa’maq Al-Antaki is recognized as one of the prominent poets of the Fatimid era, distinguished for his vivid portrayal of the Egyptian environment of the time, capturing its political, social, and economic aspects with great precision.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Mahdawi specializes in Arabic and literature, particularly Abbasid and Fatimid literature. His scholarly contributions include numerous critical editions, such as The HussainiElegies in Andalusian Poetry (with the poetry of Ibn Darraj Al-Qastalli as a model), The Witty News of Neighbors by Al-Suyuti, A Promenade of Companions in the Poetry of Women by Al-Suyuti, and The Delight of Dancers and Singers by Ibn Sa’id Al-Andalusi, recently released in its fourteenth edition.
