Prof. Dr. Hadi Al-Sa’eedi, the esteemed Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, called for adherence to the counsel of the Supreme Religious Authority (Grand Marja’) (may his life be prolonged), urging reflection on its diverse content that inspires hope for a bright future—one distanced from the culture of despair and loss of hope. He emphasized the necessity of adhering to customs and traditions as a foundational pillar for preserving the unity and fabric of society. He also underscored the importance of re-examining the rich Shi’a heritage that embodies profound elements safeguarding its cultural and civilizational identity.
Text of the Supreme Religious Authority’s Counsel:
“The nation is on the path toward recovery and stability,” calling upon all to “cast aside fear and embrace hope for a better future.” He affirmed “the importance of Iraqis upholding authentic customs, values, and principles as the cornerstone for maintaining the unity and identity of society.”
Addressing the Shi’a community in particular, he stated: “The Shi’a possess a magnificent civilizational heritage, and it is essential that they come to know it, preserve it, and recognize it as a vital part of their cultural and historical identity.”
