A Master’s thesis entitled “Ghayat al-Su’ul in Sirat al-Rasul by Abdul Basit Al-Malati Al-Qahiri (d. 920 AH): A Historical Study” was discussed in the Department of History at the College of Education for the Humanities, University of Kerbala. The thesis was submitted by graduate student Hiba Adel Rashid under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alawi Muzher Muzal.
The study aimed to highlight key topics covered in the biography of the noble Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon himand his household) as presented in Ghayat al-Su’ul, and to explore the detailed account of the Prophet’s life as documented by Ibn Khalil Al-Malati.
The thesis consisted of three chapters. The first chapter provided a comprehensive biography of Abdul Basit Al-Malati, including his birthplace and scholarly background. The second chapter focused on his most prominent works, revealing the breadth of his knowledge across various fields. The third chapter shed light on the book Ghayat al-Su’ul fi Sirat al-Rasul (Peace and blessings be upon him and his household).
