A lecturer in the College of Education for the Humanities obtains a Ph.D. in Philosophy

Ali Salman Awad, a lecturer in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala, obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Kufa for his thesis entitled: “Ethics in Nasir al-Din al-Tusi and its Peripatetic Origins – An Analytical Study.

The thesis aimed to shed light on the references of Khawaja Nasir al-Din al-Tusi, classifying them into theological, philosophical, and jurisprudential sources, as well as examining his influence on the views of several Greek and Islamic philosophers.

The researcher reached several conclusions, most notably: a statement of al-Tusi’s attempt to reconcile theology and philosophy by incorporating philosophical views into theological discussions. It also highlighted the importance of ethics in Islamic and European societies in light of developments occurring at various levels and in various directions.
