Regarding the recent directive from the Ministry on filling vacant seats for postgraduate admission for the academic year 2025–2026, we would like to clarify the following:
1. Transfer is limited to applicants moving from the general admission channel to the self-funded channel, to fill vacant seats, if available.
2. Applicants from all privileged categories may also transfer to the self-funded channel, if seats are available, provided they have passed the competitive exam.
3. Applications for transfer must be submitted exclusively online.
4. The first phase of processing will take place from 27–31 July 2025, during which successful applicants from the general admission channel and privileged categories may submit transfer requests.
5. Between 3–7 August 2025, an additional five points will be granted to address critical cases, based on the highest differential average, to fill vacant seats within each applicant’s respective channel.
6. If seats remain available in the self-funded channel, applicants who received remedial points may apply for transfer during the same period (3–7 August 2025).
7. If two applicants who received remedial points from both channels (general admission and self-funded) are competing for one available seat in the self-funded channel, priorityis given to the one from the self-funded channel.
8. If the applicant benefits from remedial points to secure a seat within their original channel (general or privileged), no financial obligations apply, and the applicant remains in their original channel.
Note: The transfer applies to the admission channel only, not the seat itself. The phrase “changing the admission channel from general to self-funded” means transferring the applicant’s status, not transferring the seat from one channel to another.
