To strengthen international partnerships and develop academic programs, President of University of Kerbala Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali has received Dr. Richard Sunderland, Director of British Council_ Iraq, so as to open new avenues for international partnerships.
During the meeting, several topics have been discussed, most notably expanding scientific and cultural cooperation between the university and the council. This collaboration aims at supporting academic environment and broaden joint relation to gain international experiences.
The two sides also discuss mechanisms of developing capabilities through training programs and exchange of academic expertise.
The meeting also addresses possibility of the campus to be an official IELTS registration and testing centre . This would facilitate efforts to fulfill study and research requirements and apply to international programs.
The President focuses on this visit which represents an important step towards consolidating cooperation with reputable international institutions. He stresses the university’s commitment to develop its academic programs and enhance its students’ skills in accordance with global standards.
For his part, Sunderland expresses his readiness to support joint cooperation initiatives and expand areas of partnership in a way that serves development of higher education in Iraq and enhances students’ opportunities to obtain international experiences.
