The College of Education for the Humanities organizes a scientific seminar on the role of education in promoting women’s rights and sustainable developmentOn the sidelines of the first annual Human Rights Festival held under the slogan “Rights – A Guide to Awareness,” the College of Education for the Humanities  at the University of Kerbala organized a scientific seminar titled “The Role of Education in Promoting Women’s Rights and Sustainable Development,” featuring lectures by (Dr. Marwa Maki Jafar, Asst.Lect. Safaa Sabeih Khazal, Asst.Lect. . Mohammed Ali Razaq, and Asst.Lect.. Fatima Abdulhadi Saleh), attended by a number of faculty members and students from the college.The seminar aimed to clarify the role of education in protecting and promoting women’s rights in the context of sustainable development, and to highlight the fourth goal that guarantees the right to education.The seminar included the following topics: addressing the historical aspect and examples of educated women in Islamic history, as well as the importance of education in enhancing the role of women and empowering them economically, socially, and politically, and changing societal concepts. Additionally, it focused on developing women’s capabilities in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Vision and highlighting the goals that guarantee women’s rights to equality and education.

Effective Study Techniques” is a scientific seminar in the English DepartmentAs part of the ongoing scientific activities of the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala, the department of English held a scientific seminar titled “Effective Study Methods,” presented by the department’s instructor. Zeina Diaa Mohammed.The seminar aimed to clarify effective study strategies represented by respecting time, continuous reading, taking class notes, and applying the acquired knowledge in daily life.The seminar witnessed positive interaction from the students, who expressed their benefit from the topics presented. It concluded with recommendations, including the emphasis that correct scientific methods are the key to a student’s distinction in their specialized field, facing challenges, and achieving their academic and professional goals. Additionally, it highlighted the necessity of adhering to the educational system prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the main steps to achieve success and excellence.It is worth mentioning that the department of English ustrives to hold continuous scientific activities represented by seminars and workshops, in addition to organizing educational and scientific exhibitions to provide educational guidance and material and moral support to students in their educational and academic journey.

The College of Education for the Humanities organizes a scientific seminar on how to publish articles in ScopusjournalsIn line with the ministry’s directives for publishing in global journals, the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Kerbala organized a scientific seminar titled “How to Publish Articles in ScopusJournals in the Field of Social Sciences,” presented by Prof. Dr. Reith Zuhair Abdul Amir, with the attendance of several faculty members and graduate students from the college.The seminar aimed to familiarize attendees with publishing mechanisms, develop research writing skills, and enhance publishing opportunities in classified journals (Q1 and Q2). It also focused on avoiding predatory journals, as well as adhering to publishing standards.The seminar included outlining the stages of writing a research paper, starting from choosing the topic and sources, then reading and analyzing the sources, followed by writing the paper with revisions, and finally preparing the final version according to the required standards, as well as strategies for publishing in journals indexed in Scopus.The seminar concluded with recommendations, including ensuring language accuracy and updating references, selecting reliable free journals, studying articles published in targeted journals, avoiding repeated inquiries about the status of the research, and wrapping up with a review of SJR and Scopus rankings to choose appropriate journals.
